Kaylynn Dies

Kaylynn rushed Donald outside and sat him down safely...far away from the fire. After telling Donald to stay there, she rushed back into the burning house. No one knows for certain Kaylynn's reasons for going back inside. Perhaps she meant to call the fire department? Or maybe she was concerned that the maid had been unable to get out.
Kaylynn watched in shock as the fire grew larger and hotter. She was quickly overcome by the billow of smoke that was coming out of what used to be her stove.
Suddenly a huge gust of fire reached Kaylynn where she stood. Kaylynn was quickly engulfed in the flames and died.
Donald crawled back into the house, looking for his mother. The maid gently picked Donald up and took him back outside. He had already called the fire department and they were on the way. It was too late though. Kaylynn was dead.
The maid stayed, holding and comforting Donald, until the social worker came and took him away.

Kaylynn And Donald

Kaylynn sat beside Donald as he played with his toy rabbit. "Looks like it's just you and me, Donald" Kaylynn said. "We don't need anyone else, do we? We make up our own family!" It wasn't the dream that Kaylynn had once had for having a family. But...she was happy...she had Donald. And she had fallen in love with a wonderful man...Darren Dreamer. Who know what was going to happen with him?
Kaylynn went downstairs to start breakfast. She felt like having pancakes this morning. Donald always liked his pancakes with maple syrup on them. She tried to limit his sugar intake, but a little bit wouldn't hurt him, would it? She mixed up the batter and put the pancakes on the stove to cook.
Just then she heard Donald cry loudly. Kaylynn quickly ran upstairs, frightened that something bad had happened to Donald. Donald was upset because he couldn't get into the bathroom. Kaylynn was relieved. She didn't know what she would do if anything happened to her son. Kaylynn picked Donald up and took him to the bathroom, sitting him on his own little potty chair. She stood waiting until Donald finished.
Kaylynn emptied the potty chair and washed her hands. She then picked Donald up and started down the stairs. "What is that smell?" Kaylynn thought. The maid had just arrived and was downstairs as Kaylynn reached the bottom of the stairs. She put Donald down and saw a bright flash out of the corner of her eye. "The pancakes!" Kaylynn yelled, just as the stove burst into flames. Kaylynn grabbed Donald and ran for the front door. The house was on fire!

Toddler Donald Langerak

Today was Donald's birthday! He was growing up so fast. Kaylynn took Donald to his birthday cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Donald watched, fascinated by the light of the candles.
Donald transformed into a beautiful toddler. He had the biggest smile on his face. Would he favor his mother or his father in looks? Only time would tell. Kaylynn held her son closely. She felt happy...and she felt sad for Don. "Your daddy is missing so much by not being here with us," Kaylynn whispered softly, as Donald lay his head on his mother's breast.

Kaylynn Dreams

After Don left, Kaylynn fixed a salad for dinner. Don had spoiled the evening for Kaylynn with his off-the-wall comment. Darren finished dinner, then left shortly thereafter.
Kaylynn cleaned up the dishes, then sat on the couch. What was she going to do? That man was going to drive her insane. What right did he have to tell her what to do? He had married another woman, leaving her to raise his child alone. How dare he come over to her house and try to tell her what to do! The more she thought of him, the more upset she became. "Don't do this to yourself Kaylynn", she thought, "the man's not worth it!"
That night Kaylynn dreamed of Darren.
And she also dreamed of Don. She had another restless night.

Baby Donald Langerak

Kaylynn stood grasping her abdomen. She had never felt such pain in all her life! Yet she couldn't wait to hold her baby in her arms. Donald lay in his mother's arms, staring up at her with his big green eyes. That was no surprise, since both his mom and dad had green eyes. He was a beautiful baby...and healthy. Kaylynn smiled. "This is the greatest thing I've ever done. I don't know if I will ever be happier than I am right now!" Kaylynn was a wonderful mom. She loved taking care of Donald. She wanted to enjoy every moment with him that she could because she knew that she would have to return to work in just a few short weeks. She loved feeding him... She loved the way he laughed out loud and the way he looked at her with such love.
Kaylynn hired a nanny to help with Donald...especially at night. She needed to get some sleep, and with no one but herself to depend on, she needed the help. Anyway, she wanted Donald to get used to being around someone else because she would be starting work soon. Donald and his nanny seemed to get along well. Kaylynn was relieved!

Restless Kaylynn

"What is the matter with me?" thought Kaylynn. She felt so restless and unable to relax. She washed the dishes and cleaned her home until it was spotless.
She tried painting a while. She was slowly gaining her painting skills and felt very proud of her paintings. But...she couldn't seem to stay with it today.
Kaylynn lay down on her couch to rest. She had such a backache today. She turned on the television but found it hard to concentrate on the program. "I might as well just go to bed early tonight." thought Kaylynn as she got up and went to her room. Kaylynn got ready for bed. She lay down and turned off the light. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen, much worse than she had experienced before. She turned on the light and began to sit up in bed. "I think it's time!" thought Kaylynn. She was both excited and frightened!

Kaylynn woke up to the sound of the door bell ringing. "What time is it?" Kaylynn sat up on the side of her bed and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. It seems she had been so tired lately. She hadn't slept very well last night. Kaylynn answered the door to find Don standing on her front porch. "Don!", Kaylynn said in surprise, "What brings you here so early in the morning?" she asked. "I was on my way to work and I just wanted to check on you and she how you are doing", answered Don. He looked at Kaylynn. She looked tired, and she looked much bigger than the last time he had seen her.
Don seemed to be staring at her. Kaylynn knew she must look just awful. She hadn't slept well...she didn't feel well...she felt huge! And he looked just as handsome as he always did. "Thanks for your concern, Don, but I'll be just fine. I don't feel like having company right now, so could you just leave. And...try phoning before you come over next time!"

Kaylynn Ponders

Where had the day gone? Kaylynn realized that she was hungry. Opening the refrigerator, Kaylynn looked inside. She decided to fix one of her favorite dishes, lobster thermador.
Kaylynn prepared the meal in silence. The thought of Darren brought a smile to her lips. Kaylynn finished preparing the lobster and placed it in the oven to bake.
Kaylynn stood at the kitchen counter deep in thought. She had never dreamed that she would find herself in such a predicament. Pregnant...single...unmarried. She thought again of Darren. She knew that she cared for him very much. Did she love him? What must he think of her? She thought of being married to him. He seemed to be falling in love with her...but...how could she know for sure?
Just then Kaylynn smelled something burning. "The lobster!" Kaylynn thought, running to the oven. She opened up the oven and smoke billowed out, burning her eyes. She had been so deep in thought that she had burned her dinner.
Looking at the burnt dinner, Kaylynn suddenly felt very discouraged and depressed. She had just been alone too much these last few days. Tomorrow she would get out. That would make her feel better.

Kaylynn and Darren Dreamer

Kaylynn and Dina Caliente became close friends. Dina would often come over to visit. One evening Kaylynn decided to invite Darren over as well. They sat on the couch and talked for hours. Darren was so easy to talk to. They talked about cooking...and art. Kaylynn had never met such a sweet person before in her life. She found herself falling hard for Darren. She looked forward to their chats online. This was one relationship she was going to take her time with and see if there was something there that could last. Her priority for now was her little baby. She hadn't seen Don in months. He had probably heard the rumours though. He hadn't even shown enough class to stop by and see how she was doing! That was all right with Kaylynn. She had seen the "real" Don, and she was glad to be rid of him!

Kaylynn Expecting

Kaylynn had been so devestated at the reality of Don marrying another woman. Yes, she had known he was engaged...but she still had hoped that he would call off the marriage because he would want to be with her. She had wanted him to feel towards her the same way she felt about him. She had loved him. Now Kaylynn found herself alone...with a baby on the way! Yes, Kaylynn had had a lot of changes in her life of late. She had bought herself a new home. Now that she was expecting, she knew her tiny apartment wouldn't be big enough. It wasn't exactly what she had dreamed of...to buy a home alone. But she was happy that she wouldn't be alone for much longer. These last months had been very difficult for her though. Kaylynn quit her job as a maid. She worked until she started getting too big and uncomfortable. She had enough in savings to keep her going for a while. Eventually she would have to go back to work though. After the baby was born. She kept busy these days...tending her flowers, and she had taken up painting as well. It helped to make the time go by faster. Kaylynn kept in touch with her old friends. Lately it had been mostly via the internet as she tended to stay home more. She felt so awkward. It seemed every time she went to town the townies were gossiping about her. She had even found a new friend online...Darren Dreamer. Seems he was very interested in painting as well.
