Cassandra stood at the full-length mirror, looking at her reflection. She had bought her dress in Europe from the famous designer Botteka Vonata. She had been so sure when she bought it...but now...she wasn't so certain. Sometimes she wished her mother were here. Would Don think she was beautiful? She hoped so. She wanted to be beautiful for him.
Just then Nina entered the room. She stood in front of Cassandra. Should she tell Cassandra about Don? She felt sorry for Cassandra, the "poor little rich girl", as she and her sister Dina called her. But it wasn't just for Cassandra's sake. She had her own reasons for not wanting Don to marry Cassandra. Nina told Cassandra of her relationship with Don...and about being with him only a few weeks ago. Cassandra stared in disbelief, then wept softly. What should she do? She was getting married within the hour? Why, she would just have to forgive him. Surely he would be a changed man once they were married, wouldn't he? Cassandra quickly left, going to touch up her make-up. As she stood beside Don and exchanged wedding vows with him, she knew that she had made the right decision. She would try to keep Don so happy that he would never want to look at another woman again! Don thought Cassandra looked beautiful in her wedding gown. As they were pronounced husband and wife, Don drew a sigh of relief. Finally!
