Monday morning came much too early for Don. He didn't want to go to work today. He had stayed up way too late the night before and he was tired. Cassandra was supposed to be arriving back home from her trip abroad today. He was actually looking forward to seeing her. She and her little brother Alexander, and her father, Mortimer had been in Europe these last two weeks. Don thought it was a last-ditch effort on Mortimer's part to get Cassandra to change her mind about marrying him. He and old man Goth didn't always get along. The day turned out to be much better than he had anticipated. He finally got the promotion that he'd been waiting for. He was now an intern! That meant more money in his pocket, but it also meant the hours would cut into his social life. He would have to work evenings. Returning home, Don immediately checked his email, but didn't find anything of much interest. Just as he turned off the computer, the doorbell rang. He answered the door to find Cassandra standing there. He smiled brightly. He was glad to see her...yet she seemed a little cool. Had she heard something? Had Mortimer finally gotten her to change her mind about marrying him?
Don grabbed Cassandra, kissing her enthusiastically. He WAS happy to see her...and he had missed her. Cassandra was more reserved than his other girlfriends. She had a lot to learn in that department, and who better to teach her than Don himself? Mortimer had made sure his little girl had led a very sheltered life, unsoiled by the world. Don and Cassandra sat on his couch, talking. Cassandra told Don of her travels. Don told Cassandra of his promotion. Don pulled Cassandra onto his lap, kissing her face and neck...her lips. "Don! How do you expect me to talk if you keep kissing me!" said Cassandra. Don just threw back his head and laughed. "Yes, shut up and kiss me. I've missed you!" Cassandra felt happy to be back home with Don. She could hardly wait until their wedding. But today they were expected to have dinner at her home. Don got up to take a shower and change clothes. He mustn't keep his future father-in-law waiting!
