A Fire at the Pleasant Home

Angela woke up after a good nights sleep. She had really gotten much bigger these last few weeks. Her baby was due soon, and she would be glad to have this pregnancy over and done with. She had been sick just about every day of her pregnancy. Looking out the window, she was glad to see the sun shining brightly.
Mary Sue had fixed a pancake breakfast. She and Alexander were sitting at the table, eating and talking, when Angela came in. Angela sat down and began to eat. She felt ravenous! She was eating for two!
After breakfast, the family decided it was a good day to get a little work done in the yard. The leaves were falling faster than the gardener could keep up with. Alexander and Angela took a break from their work to have a water balloon fight.
Getting back to work, Alexander decided to try a new way to get rid of all those leaf piles. It was too hard to haul them all to the compost. Alexander decided to burn the leaves instead. He bent down and set the piles of leaves on fire.
Alexander had forgotten how dry the weather had been lately. Somehow the fire jumped from the leaf pile, setting one of the flower bushes on fire as well! Mary Sue and Daniel ran over to see if they could help Alexander put out the fire.
